Thank you for submitting a suggestion to our uservoice portal. Before you continue please consider the following:

We try to make our software as full featured as possible for a wide range of users in order to help 3dcart merchants succeed in their respective businesses.

However, please understand that while your idea may be perfect for your individual business model, it may not work for all stores and situations. We’ve set up this feature request and suggestion portal for ideas that may be of a benefit to all users globally on 3dcart. Hence the voting system that is enabled on the portal.

With that being stated, please also understand that submitting an idea to this portal does not guarantee that the suggestion can or will be implemented globally on the service for all users. As a service, 3dcart has many facets where functionality is dictated by peripheral services and influences such as API connections to Shipping Carriers, contractual agreements and integration parameters with various payment gateway providers, database limitations and other factors that can affect the likelihood of a suggestion being implemented.

If a suggestion is declined, we will make every effort in our control to offer counter suggestions or alternatives to try, including 3rd party-partner services (browse through our App Store) or work arounds using the existing software as is.

  1. phone order

    When placing a phone order and adding an item, to page is forwarded otthe review tab. I would prefer it stays on the Item tab to allow you add another item. Currently the process is add item>review> (Now I have to click back on the item tab to add another item)

    • I would love a button/click to be put into an abandoned cart order to change it into a phone order.

      There are times when after abandoning a cart, someone calls and wants to complete the order over the phone. Certain customizations are only allowed on phone orders so it would be great not to have to retype in all of the information like name address etc if it is already present in the abandoned cart.

      • For Phone Orders, add a field to search for customer by Company Name

        For Phone Orders, add a field to search for customer by Company Name.

        This helps when the customer's purchaser has changed and you can't remember who the former purchaser was (and you've got your customer on the line and your wasting their time fumbling around in old orders).

        • Saved Credit Card on Phone Orders

          Currently, if a customer has a saved credit card on their account, it cannot be used as a payment method on the phone order page. It would be very useful to have it available.

          • Payable invoices to customers

            We switched from shopify to 3dCart and so far it has been great. The only thing shopify allowed us to do that 3dCart does not have is a way to make up an invoice through the backend that has not been paid for and email it to a customer so they can click the link from the email and finish out their cart with their credit card information. Some people do not like sending their card information over the email or giving it over the phone. It also allows them to add something into their cart that they may not…

            • Add address verification to phone order input page. When we take orders over the phone it is difficult to understand even when customers spe

              Add address verification to phone order input page. Customers are difficult to understand over the phone even when they spell out their address. When we repeat the address back to them they say it's correct but sometimes they are wrong and are not paying attention. We have no way of knowing a typo happens unless address verification tells us it is an invalid address. Having this feature will help eliminate invalid shipments, make customers happy, and save money.

              • Have the RMA module authorize a refund through the payment gateway

                As noted in the RMA tutorial documentation:
                Important: Any refunds will need to be done manually through your payment gateway/merchant account. 3dcart's RMA process only documents the return for tracking purposes but does not tie into the payment gateway in any way.

                You should code in the OPTION to have the RMA module access the payment gateway and issue the refund. Like when you close the RMA, a popup message says "would you like to refund the customer's payment?" and it should probably allow you to enter the amount to be refunded so you can deduct any restocking fees, etc.

                  THE CHECKOUT QUESTION DROPDOWN/RADIO FEATURE IS FLAWED ....

                  The checkout questions are pre-determined which means they are pre-selected. This renders the questions useless since the customer doesn't really have to answer the question YET it will show as if they selected the first option.

                  PLEASE FIX. This issue has been brought up before and declined by other people.

                  Example of issue:

                  "How did you find our site?"

                  Options: Google, Referral, Etc.

                  Here is the problem. IF NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE QUESTION IT WILL REGISTER AS IF EVERYONE FOUND THE SITE VIA "GOOGLE" WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE.

                  • error.asp. Show more error details on uncompleted orders

                    We see so many uncompleted orders with errors pages presented to the customers. Currently we only see error.asp. Without more details about the error, we are blind to the reason, cause or solution for these errors.
                    It would be very helpful to see these error details.

                    • allow me to see STORE names on my orders

                      I need to be able to see the name of the STORE who ordered from me, not just the name of the CUSTOMER. Customers (buyers at stores) change frequently so I need the STORE NAME TO SHOW.
                      This is a very frustrating thing for me.
                      95% of my orders are wholesale from stores, not from individuals.

                      • Improve Abandoned Cart Email and Coupon Codes

                        Improve the abandoned cart email system to generate more than one email. Also have it provide unique coupon codes to the potential customer.

                        This way we can send out an email say after 1 day offering a discount to complete the order. If the order is not complete, send out another email the next day with a different % off and unique coupon code.

                        • Adding Notes Section in Managing Orders List

                          It would be great to add a notes section in the 'manage orders' list so you can see them without having to click on the individual orders to view internal notes.

                          • Default FULFILL shipping date and notify customer

                            Compared to shipping orders on A, 3dCart requres a LOT of clicks to confirm orders. On. Every. Order. The FULFILL button should default to today's date with the ability to over ride with a future date. This is how A creates optimum usability. Also the NOTIFY CUSTOMER click box should defaul to selected with the ability to over ride it. These simple mods that would bring 3dCart more into alignment with the world-wide standard of easy and fast order processing as defined by A.

                              We have live Inventory linked to our 3DCart website. But we are not able to take phone orders because the customer service rep. is not able to see how many items are in stock if the item has Advanced Options. It only shows a total of all options. It really should show you how many you have in stock for each color/size in order for the customer service rep to advise the customer quickly.

                              • Hidden items should be visible in Phone orders

                                Allow Hidden items to be added to the cart - Like they used to be! Prior to update 8.0.3, items that were hidden on the front end of the site, could still be added to the cart in phone orders. This was important for us, as we had labor or items that were only available to local customers. After the update, you cannot search for those items at all. Now these items either have to be available on the front end of the website, or cannot be used at all in phone orders. Put it back the way it used…

                                • Add supplier SKU to Purchase Order

                                  The purchase order feature does not include the suppliers SKU. Emailing the PO to the supplier from 3dcart is useless unless you have the suppliers SKU associated with it too.! It would also be great to see how many are committed for that item when creating the PO.

                                  • Promotion Manager needs work

                                    When you create a promotion for lets say 50% off clearance items. It computes the subtotal and discount automatically which is nice. But lets say I am sold out of one the promoted products and take it off the order, the system recalculates the subtotal but does not update the discount amount. That has to be done manually I recently found out, so I can not even guess how many orders I have sent that the discount given was too much.                                     • Add new item(s) to order

                                      Very often, after a customer has placed an order, they would call in and request for additional items on the order they just place. This would help them save on shipping. Currently, we are able to change the number of items on the order but not able to add new items. It would be great if we can add this new feature.

                                      • Time Stamp for NOTIFY feature

                                        Please create a Time Stamp feature that will give internal users an indication of when the last time " NOTIFY " was clicked and sent to customers.
                                        This will prevent other internal users from over sending notifications that may cause confusion additionally it will confirm to admin staff that the customer was NOTIFIED regarding the status of the order.

                                        • Order search should index all order fields

                                          It's difficult to find orders via search since all of the fields aren't indexed. Example, we searched for an order by the shipping name (billing name was different). Nothing showed? Search function seems incomplete if not indexing all fields. Or make the limitations obvious in the search box since this can result in companies thinking an order wasn't placed if search comes up with nothing when searching for names.
