Offer the ability to embed a coupon code (or better yet, multiple codes) in a link.
We can put this link on a promotional banner on the site, in a text promotion, or in an e-mail to customers.
It works better and is much more effective and professional to just have the promotion apply automatically when the customer clicks on the link.
Allowing for multiple codes would allow us the ability to offer promotions like save $5 on 50, and 10 on $75 , and all the customer has to do is click on a link. Currently they would have to enter the appropriate coupon.
With regard to shipping... it would be nice to have the option to use the customer's account (if applicable) to create a label within 3dcart .

This is a very good idea. Would certainly help my promotions and email campaigns.

That posted workaround is no use since you want to give the customer a link to your actual product (not a fake hidden product) and apply the coupon code at the same time. If you give the link to a fake hidden product, sure there will now be a discount in the cart but the user doesn't really know that the discount has been applied and still then has to manually navigate to the product they wanted which is a huge obstacle in the way of making a purchase. This feature is like one of the basic features any cart should have so it's surprising 3DCart do not already have it in place and even more baffling is that they have been notified about its importance yet still won't implement it! Bizarre.
I agree! Customers should be able to click not have to remember a code and enter it. This would increase conversions for sure!

For me this funcitonality is abosultely crucial. The idea of the checkout process is to remove obstacles and speed up the flow to purchase and such implementation would do this.
Store admin should be able to generate a promotion url that redirects a potential customer to a category page or a product page or auto-add a product to the cart and at the same time auto-add a specified coupon to the cart too.
But to be clear: you should be able to apply the coupon to the cart without an item in the cart and then when an item is added the coupon discount is applied if it is valid and relates to the item or items in the cart.
This is also a required feature if you wish to offer a discount to selected customers and hide the actual coupon code so people can't abuse a promotion by posting the coupon code via social media. If it is hidden in a url and automatically added to the cart then the customer cannot see the coupon code but the discount is still applied.

I posted a workaround here that may work for some users:
