schedule price change
More and more of our vendors restrict us to a minimum advertised price. Some vendors have promotional periods where we are allowed to sell at a lower price for specific dates.
Rather than have us edit the price twice:
Once at the moment the promotion period begins
Then again changing it back at the moment the promotional period is over,
I would rather we be able to set the duration of the promotional price once.
EG have the product sell at normal price up to 8/31/15
Then have it automatically switch to a promotional price on 9/1/15
Then have it automatically switch to a normal price on 10/1/15
I could program it once anytime before the change started with the following data:
Promo start date
Promo stop date
If we are "not on top of promo pricing" our products are not competitive with other sites that offer the promo pricing.
Having this feature would also help when we get price increases, we could program the increase to kick in on a certain date and remain that way until we change it.
This would cut our price maintenance chores in half.
We have two features which can accomplish this idea.
First, there’s the Custom Sale Price Rules app.
This add-on module allows you to schedule promotions for products based on an ID prefix. Basically, you create a rule where you specify the applicable product ID prefix, the percentage off, and a start and end date. When the script runs, it will mark the products as on Sale and lower the price to the percentage specified. And, since the product is marked as on sale, the “Sale” tag is displayed for them.
The second option is a newer feature added to v9.1 where merchants on the Pro Plans (and higher) can schedule promotions. It doesn’t mark the products as on Sale, but it does let you schedule promotional discount for items ahead of time.
the SKU has been quietly added to the product options file in column B so there is now a workaround for those of you who need fast price changes that include product options.. Just change your SKU's to match manufacturers' first few letters.
Lisa can you explain more and how can I contact you?
Lisa Boden would you be willing to share/sell the solution? All I do is price changes in the 3dcart admin because most of our items use advanced product options - huge waste of time. It never ends. How can I get in touch with you?

We have been making automated updates via Python scripting. Let me know if have questions.
Quite appropriate for this much requested feature.
Right from 3dCart's blog.. https://blog.3dcart.com/15-things-that-can-affect-your-2019-online-sales
"Products offered online need to be better priced than offline stores to be compelling, not just for the ones too lazy to go out and shop, but also for the buyers always looking to save money. This is the reason people buy too much during Walmart and Amazon Black Friday sales. Offering better prices than what is available at offline stores or other online websites gives your online store an edge over the competition."
***But 3dCart makes this IMPOSSIBLE when the advanced product options are applied to a product***
. When will 3dcart make price changes simpler in batch by category or manufacturer?
apparently 3dcart seems to think beer is more important than this much needed feature request.
waste of time: https://blog.3dcart.com/international-beer-day-2019
Just finished another round of price increases... 127 items with 3 different packaging volumes (1 gal, 5 gal, quart) took me about 4 days because of your archaic system. for the love of God fix this.
And no it cannot be done via excel because 3dcart refuses to include the product name in the product options file and the advanced product options file.
tick tock.. tick tock. got 300 plus items I need to do price changes on and its going to take me about 90 work hours when it should take a few keystrokes. exhausting.
Just spent a total of about 11 work hours doing price changes on 175 products with multiple qty sizes.
It's very difficult to do via spreadsheet since 3dcart refuses to put the product name in the options file and the advanced options file.. something that should take 3 minutes took over 2 days. My colleagues who are using Shopify and WooCommerce laugh at me (as they should),
3dCart Developers, please give us an updated ETA on this much requested feature. thank you
For 3dcart developers monitoring this feature request, this issue that you have documented below compounds the enormity of making price changes on today's price competitive web. Currently, 3dcart customers are hindered because we are unable to efficiently make batch price changes in order to be price competitive.
So many great comments below on this most needed important feature. Shopify and Woocommerce have supported this since 2017 and yet we still are waiting. When 3dCart finally gets around to doing this, need it to be automated so you can not only schedule changes but do it through a step by step process such as, select man or cat, select which prices (because of product options), select price change % up or down, round up or down to closest .95? (yes or no), and then finally the date of the price change. And then bam it should work. This would basically turn a task that currently takes 40 man hours for 100 or so items with product options into a 10 second task.

This feature would be awesome for specific sales too. Although it can be set as a promo, promotions do not change the price the customer sees on their screen. They see it as a discount. So when having a sale, I have to be up at midnight to start it, and up at midnight again to end it. There are so many features that would benefit from a "job date". In our industry, we have products we cannot reveal until a certain date/time. If I could load the products into my 3dCart store, and keep them hidden, but have an "unhide products *** to ***" and "unhide category ***" at a certain time/date, I may not have to work while on vacation!!!

fully agreed: It would cut maintenance for promos in half, and prevent us to be up at midnight.
My old store(prostores) used to have this feature and it was old as dirt

This is a great feature that other platforms call Chron jobs. This is a function that is set to occur at a certain time. It would be a great feature for 3dCart to implement Chron jobs for several areas in the back end. Then, one should be able to view a list of user defined Chron jobs in chronological order and make changes to them as needed. I'm sure this ability is built into the asp.net core, just not implemented here yet. I doubt this function has to be built from scratch. It may have to be customized for the 3dCart backend though.
This doesn't even have to be a huge UI change. Just allow the functionality to import the products file and schedule it to process at a certain time instead of immediately.
PLEASE!!!!!!!! This is so needed so that site admins do not have to be up at midnight to start/stop sales. Save small business owners and give us our sleep back!!!
To me, this is a basic feature of a cart - being able to control your start/end dates of a sale. In my business I routinely put products on sale only for a set period of time - ie a weekend, a week. In my previous cart this was standard. Now with 3DCart I need to manually go in and turn them off at the end of my sale. This is very inefficient and frustrating.
This was one of the main reasons why I closed one of my other 3DCart accounts and have since created a custom site for it. One of my shops is in the medical industry and most of the vendors have MAP policies and certain 'sale' dates that are allowed. This would be an awesome feature to add for these current 3DCart merchants.
